Land Acknowledgement

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

At East York Learning Experience, we’re honoured to do our work on the traditional territory of many Indigenous nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat Peoples. Today, this land—East York, part of Tkaronto (Toronto)—continues to be home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

As educators and literacy advocates, we honour the enduring knowledge systems, languages, and oral traditions of Indigenous communities. We recognize the transformative power of words and stories—and we are committed to listening, learning, and contributing to truth, reconciliation, and respectful relationships.
